The summer is quickly folding to a close. I have had a lot of fun this summer between going to North Dakota, Kansas, Florida, Texas, and New Mexico. It really has been a blast! Now it is time to get ready for an exciting new year. I have always loved the start of the school year. Was it Scarlett or Pollyanna who said, "Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it."? That is how I feel about a new year. It is fresh with all the wonderful challanges and opportunities available.
However, all of the fun and all of the preparation have not been very giving in its allocation of writing time. I know that it is something I am going to have to just DO! Julie described to me today about creating a schedule to write. Perhaps if I put my notebook in my purse I could at least write during the times I am waiting in the car. How are you doing at finding time to write? I am looking forward to hearing how writing is going for you!
I'm assuming that taking time to write also means revising and editing ones work, so I've done quite a bit of that. As far as working on anything new. Nope! Haven't done that. Trying to get a query letter written and out to agents as there were a bunch listed in my Writer's Digest magazine that are looking for new authors. Maybe. FanStory has lots of nice writing opportunities, but it does cost to join, or peruse the site to get ideas on what to write about. Just a thought. :)
ReplyDeleteStarted on a new story the other day. It just popped into my head and I had it all talked out internally so figured I'd better start writing it down. Why do storied pop into your head at the most inopportune times? I should be getting my others out to publishers. Marketing, marketing, marketing is the only way I'm going to get published and what happens another story appears.
